Hillsborough / Conspiracy ‘X’

Had there been a conspiracy…  as some have suggested, it would have been of such massive proportions as to be simply unthinkable in a democratic country. It would have involved hundreds of ordinary people, members of the families, their friends… independent experts, scientists, as well as various police forces.

The quote above applies as equally to Hillsborough as it does the cases of the Guildford 4, Birmingham 6, Maguire 7, Danny McNamee, Judith Ward, as it does to the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Azelle Rodney, Mark Duggan, Jean Charles de Menezes and anyone else who has fallen victim to the State’s bodies of armed men.

In fact, the opening quote is a transcript of Lady Justice Hallett’s wrapping-up theatrics at the close of the 7/7 inquests which, significantly, fufilled none of the actual functions of an inquest.

The full Lady Justice Hallet quote reads as follows:

Had there been a conspiracy to falsely to implicate any of the four in the murder plot, as some have suggested, it would have been of such massive proportions as to be simply unthinkable in a democratic country. It would have involved hundreds of ordinary people, members of the bombers’ families, their friends, their fellow terrorists, independent experts, scientists, as well as various police forces.

The fact of the matter is that all the cases listed above actually did involve “conspiracies of such massive proportions as to be simply unthinkable in a democratic country.” But, of course, part of the illusion is that the people of Britain live in a democracy because a small percentage of them put an X in a box every five years.

While it may be uncomfortable to acknowledge that States routinely conspire against the general public in all degrees, with that truth comes the power of understanding the true nature of the battle that humanity faces in its struggle for liberation from all forms of corporate, capitalist State-sponsored oppression.
